When Fear Leads to the Absurd - Day 519

A young boy that want to become an engineer builds an homemade clock. Sounds very impressive right? Sounds like something that us adults should admire, in a world where kids are becoming lazy and demotivated to be something in this world.

And yet, when the young boy showed the clock he built to his teacher, instead of being proud at him and acknowledge his effort, the teacher assumed the young boy built a bomb and the poor boy was led out of the school in handcuffs to be investigated by the police in a juvenile detention center.

Now, let's use common sense for a moment - if the boy would be one that builds a bomb; if he had the skills, the tools and the intention to build a bomb; if he had intentions to harm anything or anyone - do you really think he would show the teacher the bomb? If this kid is that smart to build a bomb, he would be smart enough to not show it to his teacher. isn't that so?

We are living in a world of fear where someone as innocent as a boy who build a clock is a suspect of being a terrorist just because of his skin color, his name and his ancestors' history.

When will we stop reacting in fear to one another and instead practice forgiveness, patience, understanding, respect and honor towards each other?
When will we stop directing ourselves and our world as a response to a fear and instead create an environment of support to one another?

Yes, this world has become a creational manifestation of fear. It doesn't have to continue like that; we don't have to continue living in fear; we don’t need to continue to respond in fear; we don't need to continue creating in fear.

Understanding the source of your fears is the first step to self-empowerment where you are no longer controlled by your own fear but standing in a point of direction and creation.

A recent report by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) expose that out of every 122 people on the planet is a refugee, seeking asylum, or internally displaced. 1 out of 122 people in this planet. Imagine that.

Well you know what - stop imagining because it is real  -  this is the physical reality we live in.

While the majority of this world forced into a life of war, abuse and constant fear, us, the minority, we strive for personal success, for more money, better social status, better cars, housing and so forth. Seldom do we really consider other people; rarely we take a moment to critically thing about the current world situation and how each of us is individually responsible for the world we live in today.

You may ask yourself - "why am I responsible? I don't make the laws". Are you sure? Aren't we voting every couple of years for our president or prime minister? Are we actively walking any path to change the laws and the economic system? Do we really want to change the world or it is just a fantasy we keep on telling ourselves and others to make us feel and look good?

"Far too many of the world’s richest and most peaceful countries are ignoring their global responsibility to provide assistance and protection," said secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee Council Jan Egeland, in a press statement responding to the UN's findings. "They are hiding behind closed borders"

"For an age of unprecedented mass displacement," Guterres continued, "we need an unprecedented humanitarian response and a renewed global commitment to tolerance and protection for people fleeing conflict and persecution."

So another call for my fellow humans - changing the world system is not going to happen unless we all come together, stepping out of our convenient ignorance into practical action.

Please read my latest blog: Together we are not Alone - Day 512 so that we all take our power back to ourselves, stand together and take practical actions. Please investigate The Living Income Guaranteed Proposal and watch

Together we are not Alone–Day 512

The night before last was an immensely cold night and even though I had the heater on and a nice thick duvet, the cold got into my bones and my body was shaking from the inside, trying to get itself warm. When my body started shaking from the cold, I couldn't stop thinking about those people, just here down the road, who sleep with no heater on, no nice thick duvet or cement walls to isolate the rooms from the cold.

I started looking that night at how the hell can I personally support these people - obviously, I don't have the budget to buy all the people in this world an heater or a nice thick duvet or build decent housing; and even if I do have that money, how are they going to pay for the electricity for the purpose of turning the heater on for example? And I mean, having a heater is just one small thing - these people and so many more are facing a moment to moment survival in a world of abundance which to me is not acceptable way of living is it?

Honestly I felt sad - it is clear by now that on my individual capacity, I cannot make sure that all people in this world has decent and worthy housing, electricity, food, transport, education and so forth. It is clear that 10 people cannot make sure that all people in this world has a decent and dignified life as how we would all want for ourselves. It is clear that 100 people cannot help everyone on this world to have access to their basic human rights. It is clear that 1,000 people cannot make sure that this world will take a turn in implementing the necessary change that is required to maintain and sustain a life that is worthy of living. But, don't you think that 1,000,000 people that are coming together can be so powerful source in making sure what needs to be done is done? And how about 1,000,000,000 people standing together as a powerful unity?

What worth does it have if we all stand alone, wishing for a change or wishing that suffering will end one day if we don't practically do something about it - TOGETHER?

There are so many people in this world who would want to do something but in some way or another, most of us feel that we don't know what or how to practically do it. This is because we each try to invent the wheel while there is no real need to invent a new wheel as everything is already here and ready to be changed in the way that is best for all. All that is really needed is our understanding that together we are NOT alone in this vision and mission of creating a dignified life for all people and animals and when we pull our resources together, all our individual skills, our individual power, we will become one unified force that has the power to demand and implement a change in this world.

So this is a call for myself and others - to come together with our individual skills, forces and powers and to together implement encompassing solutions on all levels of life within the vision and mission of creating a life that is of worth for every creature on this planet.

Christmas(s) or ChristMess ? - Day 433(s) or ChristMess ? - Day 433

The legend tells us that around the 2-9 BC, Jesus was born into this world with a very specific messages:

  1. Love - "You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself"
  1. Forgiveness - “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;
  1. Equality -"Give, and you will receive"

At this very moment, 25th of December 2013, Billion of people are celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ.

But, is there really a reason to celebrate the Birth of a Man, the birth of a message - a message that stands by and as the living application of honoring the basic human rights, if thousands of years after, we haven't found a way to honor these principles or rather shell we say - thousands of years after and our living application is in fact the complete opposite?

So is it Christmas or Christ-Mess where we made a mess of this reality as we, disregarding, disrespecting and dishonoring one another? Is it not the Mess that we have created by the hatred towards each other that we were born into? Is it not the Mess that we are living as a living application of Take and Take and Take and never Give? Is it not the Mess that we have created by Never Forgiving ourselves and each other?

Come 'on people - this is enough - this is a wake up call - this cannot continued !

It is time to honor each other, it is the time to respect each other, it is the time to take care of each other and truly Give as We would like to Receive. There are Billions in this world that in that very moment are starving while the few of us are feasting and exchanging gifts. There are Millions who are fighting for a purpose that is unknown to them while the rest of us enjoying our comfort zones; Millions are freezing to death while others sit in front of the fire and singing…

It is time… a time for a change - will you be part of the change?

The Haves and the Haves Not - Day 428

clip_image001

This is a township close by to where I live… It is a place that every time I pass by the words: "This is not acceptable" are in my mind, as a reminder of the reality we live in; a reality where some have everything and the majority have nothing.

It is a reminder for what I stand for and what needs to be done to provide these people and many like them the basic human rights.

A month ago I went to see some public schools in an area near by; first, I started with a school that 90% of the children are children to single parents whom are in great poverty. I had a long chat with the Principle of the school who shared with me the problems he is facing with running the school in terms of the budget, the curriculum, the facilities and so forth. In a nutshell, his student have no real chance to make a living in this world as they are doomed to continue the cycle of poverty. Then, I drove 10 min to the other side of the city and entered another primary public school. At first, I was sure it is private school because in comparison to the school in the other side of the city, this school looked like 5 stars hotel. The school had a swimming pool, sport courts, Computer labs, Science lab and so forth. I can only imagine how the private schools look like in South Africa.

It was really difficult to process the idea that in one small city, you have such a huge gap between the haves and the haves not; gap that would determine the future of these kids where some get a chance to live and the others get the chance to do nothing but survive.

In South Africa the gap cannot be ignored - it is everywhere - you can directly see the townships, the poverty, the helplessness and at the same time, you see the wealth, the possibilities, the opportunities that are only available for the few.

The thing is, it seems that we all got used to our current economic status whether we are the ones that have or we are the ones that have not. At first, it didn't make sense to me; I couldn't conceptualize how come everyone accepted this life that we currently live and why there is no apparent change coming up. It took me years to find the answer of why humanity became numb where we do not question the system anymore; the answer to such big question is very simplistic - the source of the problem is within the rotten education system we all grow up with.

The schooling system in this world has becoming a pipe through which our mind is shaped, designed and mold into a robotic human being with no integrity.

In the blogs to come I will specify the statement above and for now, please invest the time to watch 'The Greatest History Lesson' by John Taylor Gatto
